Our Services
Three services, designed for what families actually face.
Each of our services was shaped by listening to the families who came to us and understanding where existing legal services fell short of what they needed.
← Back to HomeHow we work
Our methodology for every engagement.
Every family matter at Akar Kasih follows the same careful structure, regardless of which service applies. We begin by listening. We take notes, not to record against you, but to understand your situation accurately before we advise on anything.
We then produce a written assessment of the options available, discuss it with you, agree on a path forward, and follow each step of that path with written updates. Nothing is assumed; nothing is left unsaid.
Listening session
We hear the situation in full before offering any opinion or direction. This session is unhurried.
Written assessment of options
We prepare a brief written note outlining what is possible, what is advisable, and what each path involves.
Agreed plan of action
You decide how to proceed. We do not push; we advise. The plan is written and signed off by both parties.
Execution with written updates
We carry out the work and keep you informed in writing at every significant step. You are never left wondering where things stand.
Service 01
Family Consultation with Adult Children Present
A respectful session designed for clients who would prefer to discuss their family law matter with one or more adult children in the room. The firm sets a calm, conversational tone, ensures that the client's wishes remain at the centre of the discussion, and writes a short summary that captures the points the family agreed to consider further.
- Calm, unhurried format in a private meeting room
- Client's wishes remain the primary reference throughout
- Written summary of agreed discussion points provided
- Solicitor facilitates, not the attending family members
Service 02
Application for Variation of Custody or Access
Considered representation in applications to vary an existing custody or access order, where the children's needs, the parents' circumstances, or wider family conditions have changed since the original order. We gather supporting evidence patiently, frame the application in measured terms, and represent the client through hearings with full written updates.
- Assessment of whether variation grounds exist
- Patient, thorough evidence gathering
- Measured application drafting and court representation
- Written update to client after every court attendance
- Children's welfare as the primary legal standard throughout
Service 03
Long-Term Family Plan with Annual Review
A multi-session engagement that produces a written family legal plan covering parenting, property, wills, and longer-term arrangements for elderly parents and dependent children. The plan is reviewed annually in a single quiet sitting at the client's option, without any expectation that the engagement must continue.
- Multi-session engagement producing a complete written plan
- Covers parenting, property, wills, and elder care
- Annual review offered — not assumed or invoiced automatically
- Adjustments made only where life genuinely calls for them
